Peter joined Ernslaw One in 2003 after working in British Columbia as a Registered Professional Geoscientist in forest hydrology and geotechique. His role is to provide strategic leadership for environmental performance and planning across the Ernslaw forest estate ensuring that industry best practice standards are consistently achieved and that all statutory and FSC compliance obligations are met.
Peter is responsible for the development of relevant policies and processes and embedding these within our forest management systems. Peter and the EPP team are charged with ensuring positive relationships are built and maintained with central government policy makers, Council regulators, iwi, Forest Accord ENGOs partners, other primary sector representatives, operational staff and our contractors. He is a previous President of the NZ Forest Owners Association.
Having been a member of the British Columbia snow avalanche programme, Peter knows his way around the snow and enjoys hitting the slopes on both skis and a snow board. He is also the proud owner of a bulldozer and digger which he uses on his small farm.
