Ernslaw congratulates Eastside Logging for its big win at the recent Eastern Wood Council Forestry Awards.

Eastside Logging received the Environmental Initiative Management Award (sponsored by TDX) for its exceptional environmental management and compliance.

Ernslaw has worked with Eastside Logging for over 20 years across challenging terrain, often in remote areas.  

‍

Blair Van der Maas, Ernslaw’s East Coast Regional Manager, says Eastside Logging has been a professional and loyal business partner.

“It is great to see Eastside Logging being recognised for the outstanding job they do.  Their environmental compliance is exceptional with managing cutover and extraction whilst making health and safety of the crew an absolute priority and keeping the environment very firmly in mind,” says Blair.

Eastside Logging has made significant investment in machinery and upskilling staff and are now a fully mechanised crew.

“Their cutover standard is very high, and the crew is continually exploring ways to minimise any post-harvest material left behind on the slope or in waterways, using mechanised processes.  They have embraced Ernslaw’s environmental improvement strategy and work closely in partnership with us to meet the goals set,” continues Blair.
