We are seeking applications for a Forestry Manager opportunity in Gisborne. This pivotal role is responsible for growing our asset, creating value through the management of our establishment, silviculture and forest protection programmes and working with our broader team of forestry professionals to ensure we are employing best practice methodology to maximise the value of our investment.

Know the science!
- Leading the tree crop function means that you will be improving processes and methodologies to get those extra growth and quality gains. You will be directing both staff and contractors in value add programmes and working with our Forest Improvement Manager to work out the right formula to deliver those premium products. You use smart technologies to help get things done more efficiently and you know the importance of keeping quality data, up to date.

- Working alongside your teams of staff and contractors, you will have a values-based leadership style. You will support, coach and grow your teams sharing knowledge and facilitating learning. You will provide clarity of expectations and you will set the working foundations to enable partnership and success. You will spend time with your people in the field, problem solving and celebrating the wins. You will work collaboratively across regions and national support functions to gain better outcomes for all Ernslaw.

Reporting to the Regional Manager, this is a senior role in the Gisborne team with two direct reports. The ideal candidate will have:
- Ability to lead empowered teams with a collaborative working style
- Strong knowledge of establishment, silviculture and forest protection practices.
- Strong commercial acumen and understanding of value.
- A relevant tertiary qualification and proven experience in relevant forestry roles;
